Requiem for a Dream
Overview:
This print was another one of my posters for an art show where the central theme was alternative movie and television posters. Requiem for a dream is a favorite of mine, and honestly I really struggled coming up with something clever for this. At the time I was designing a lot of prints with similarity of design, or things that look like other things. Running out of time I decided to use the characters expressions to depict the mood of the movie rather than the plot. I illustrated each of the four main characters in the movie with a chiaroscuro technique, and choose images of them with a sense of dread or uncertainty on their face. Out of all of the prints I had worked on that year this one was the most surprising, because it seemed to be most peoples favorite.
